Three friends & colleagues, Peter Wingfield, James (Jim) McIntosh & Roger Van Oosten, sharing 40 years combined industry experience, created their own business selling filtration solutions.
The trio setup office in one of their family homes, using the bedroom of one of their sons. When the boy left for school each day, they set up a trestle table in the room, and shared a single phone line.
Purely focused around project work, initial products included HVAC / HEPA filters & gaseous filtration media systems from USA filtration companies Flanders Filters Inc. & Purafil Inc.
Business was growing, and the trio moved into their first commercial premises – an old butchers shop in Toorak Road, Burwood Victoria.
The trio won their first major project; the Victorian Archives. Purafil gaseous filtration media systems & atmospheric corrosion monitors, as well as Flanders HEPA / HVAC filters were supplied.
USA air filtration companies Flanders Filters Inc. and Purafil Inc. license their exclusive Australian distribution rights to the trio. They also gain support of some major contractors as clients.
The business name is changed to Airepure Australia Pty Ltd.
Demand for our filtration solutions was enough to hire another sales person – Kelvin (Kel) Dingwall
Airepure opened its first interstate branch in St Mary’s, Sydney – managed by Paul Zeibots
Airepure’s Melbourne operation moved to larger premises in Mulgrave, with significant office and warehouse space.
Airepure supplied and installed a Purafil Emergency Gas (Chlorine) Scrubber at Melbourne Water’s Silvan Dam Disinfection Plant in Victoria. This was Purafil’s first international sale of a 1 tonne EGS.
Airepure Sydney’s first major project, supplied forensic evidence drying cabinets & filtered cyanoacrylate fuming cabinets for fingerprint processing to the NSW Police forensic department.
Airepure gained accreditation for operating a Quality Management System which complied with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 for the supply of air and gas phase filtration products.
Airepure provided complete odour control systems to ActewAGL for their Weston / North Weston sewer vents. Similar systems were also provided to several Sydney Water sewerage treatment plants.
Airepure Sydney supply various Flanders CSC bag in-bag out containment housings for nuclear medicine processes within Australia’s Nuclear Science & Technology Organistation facility.
Powerclean large scale auto wash ESP systems (air cleaning systems for commercial kitchen exhaust) were introduced to the HVAC market at ARBS 2004 in Melbourne.
Airepure supply and install ten Powerclean systems of various single pass configurations at Melbourne Docklands Harbour Town precinct.
Airepure’s second interstate branch is opened in Adelaide, through purchase of the filter division of Parsons Tabo – managed by Bob Allan.
A true national presence for Airepure was established through the opening of our Brisbane branch – managed by Roger Crook. This was a new office/warehouse based in Stapleton.
The first Airepure Focus 1000 was installed in Queensland at the Logan Eye Clinic.
This was the first major project won for Airepure Brisbane branch, supplying various HVAC filters to the Queensland State Library.
Airepure launch Purafil corrosion control monitors at ARBS 2006 in Sydney.
A significant project for Airepure’s Brisbane office was the Queensland Bone Bank, supplying custom ceiling grid systems fitted with ULPA filters for the clean rooms and various HEPA modules.
Airepure strengthened their business infrastructure to ensure proper management during a time of market growth, employing technical sales, admin & warehouse staff.
