PURAFIL SP MEDIAPurafil SP Media

PURAFIL SP MEDIA demonstrate a higher working capacity for broad-spectrum oxidation of contaminants in actual field condition, where multiple gas challenges are present. The Purafil SP Series has been specially engineered to contain more permanganate (the active ingredient) for increased removal capacity, allowing the media to remain more available for removal of target gases.

Purafil® SP Media (patent-pending) shall consist of manufactured, generally spherical, porous pellets. Pellets shall be formed from a combination of activated alumina and other binders, suitably impregnated with sodium permanganate to provide optimum adsorption, absorption and oxidation of a wide variety of gaseous contaminants. The sodium permanganate shall be applied during pellet formation, such that the impregnant is uniformly distributed throughout the pellet volume and is totally available for reaction. The Purafil chemisorptive process shall remove contaminant gases by means of adsorption, absorption, and chemical reaction. Gases shall be trapped within the pellet where oxidation changes the gases into harmless solids, eliminating the possibility of desorption.

Purafil® SP Media shall meet the following removal capacities:
• HYDROGEN SULFIDE: 14% minimum by weight
• SULFUR DIOXIDE: 7.0% minimum by weight
• NITROGEN DIOXIDE: 15.0% minimum by weight
• NITRIC OXIDE: 6.0% minimum by weight
• FORMALDEHYDE: 4.0% minimum by weight

PURAFIL CHEMISORBANT MEDIAPurafil Chemisorbant Media

PURAFIL CHEMISORBANT MEDIA shall consist of manufactured, generally spherical, porous pellets. Pellets shall be formed from a combination of activated alumina and other binders, suitably impregnated with potassium permanganate to provide optimum adsorption, absorption and oxidation of a wide variety of gaseous contaminants. The potassium permanganate shall be applied during pellet formation, such that the impregnant is uniformly distributed throughout the pellet volume and is totally available for reaction.

The Purafil chemisorptive process shall remove contaminant gases by means of adsorption, absorption, and chemical reaction. Gases shall be trapped within the pellet where oxidation changes the gases into harmless solids, eliminating the possibility of desorption.

Purafil® Chemisorbant Media shall meet the following removal capacities:
• HYDROGEN SULFIDE: 8% minimum by weight
• SULFUR DIOXIDE: 4.0% minimum by weight
• NITROGEN DIOXIDE: 10% minimum by weight
• NITRIC OXIDE: 2.85% minimum by weight
• FORMALDEHYDE: 1.4% minimum by weight

PURAFIL PURACARB MEDIAPurafil Puracarb-Puracarb AM Media

PURAFIL PURACARB MEDIA is manufactured specifically for the corrosive environments and consists of generally spherical, porous pellets. Composed of carbon, alumina and other binders, Puracarb® pellets are impregnated during pellet formation, such that the impregnant is uniformly distributed throughout the pellet volume and is totally available for reaction.

The Purafil chemisorptive process shall remove contaminant gases by means of adsorption, absorption, and chemical reaction. Gases shall be trapped within the pellet where oxidation changes the gases into harmless solids, eliminating the possibility of desorption.

Puracarb® media shall meet the following removal capacities:
• HYDROGEN SULFIDE: 20% minimum by weight
• SULFUR DIOXIDE: 10% minimum by weight
• CHLORINE: 10% minimum by weight For example, 100 pounds (45.36 kg) of Puracarb® Media will remove a minimum of 10 pounds (4.53 kg) of chlorine.

PURAFIL PURACARB AM MEDIAPurafil Puracarb-Puracarb AM Media

PURACARB® AM MEDIA has a higher bulk density and larger removal capacity than standard ammonia medias. It is designed for 99.5% initial removal efficiency in Purafil’s equipment systems. Puracarb® AM Media is the FIRST and ONLY UL Class 1 rated media for ammonia.

Puracarb® AM Media is manufactured specifically for the control of ammonia and amines and consists of generally spherical, porous pellets. Composed of carbon, alumina and other binders, Puracarb® AM pellets are impregnated during pellet formation, such that the impregnant is uniformly distributed throughout the pellet volume and is totally available for reaction. The Purafil chemisorptive process shall remove contaminant gases by means of adsorption, absorption and chemical reaction. Gases shall be trapped within the pellet where chemical reactions change the gases into harmless solids, eliminating the possibility of desorption.

Puracarb® AM Media shall meet the following removal capacities by weight:
• Ammonia: 5.8%
• N-methylpyrrolidone: 12.0%
• Triethylamine: 11.9%
• Trimethylamine: 11.9%
• Methylamine: 12.0%
• Dimethlyamine: 12.0%
For example, 100 pounds (45.36 kg) of Puracarb® AM Media will remove a minimum of 5.8 pounds (2.63 kg) of ammonia.

PURAFIL PURAKOL MEDIAPurafil Purakol Media

PURAFIL PURAKOL MEDIA, activated carbon media shall consist of virgin grade, activated, non-impregnated carbon. Purakol® Media shall remove contaminant gases by means of adsorption. Gases shall adhere to the surface of the media pellet during the adsorptive process.

Purakol® media shall meet the following removal capacity:
• CHLORINE: 10.0% minimum by weight
• NITROGEN DIOXIDE: 6.6% minimum by weight
• TOLUENE: 20.0% minimum by weight
• TRICHLOROETHANE: 20.0% minimum by weight
For example, 100 pounds (45.36 kg) of Purakol® Media will remove a minimum of 10 pounds (4.53 kg) of chlorine gas.

PURAFIL CP BLEND MEDIA

PURAFIL CP BLEND MEDIA shall consist of an equal mix (by volume) of Purafil® Chemisorbant Media and Purakol® activated carbon media. The Purafil® Chemisorbant Media shall be manufactured, generally spherical, porous pellets formed from a combination of powdered activated alumina and other binders, suitably impregnated with potassium permanganate to provide optimum adsorption, absorption and oxidation of a wide variety of gaseous contaminants. The potassium permanganate shall be applied during pellet formation, such that the impregnant is uniformly distributed throughout the pellet volume and is totally available for reaction. The Purakol® Media shall be an activated carbon for the control of hydrocarbons with a high surface area available for adsorption.

PURAFIL SP BLEND MEDIAPurafil SP Blend Media

PURAFIL SP BLEND MEDIA (a blend of Purafil® SP Media and Purakol® Media) demonstrate a higher working capacity for broad-spectrum oxidation of contaminants in actual field conditions where multiple gas challenges are present. The Purafil SP Series has been specially engineered to contain more permanganate (the active ingredient) for increased removal capacity, allowing the media to remain more available for removal of target gases.

PURAFIL TRIPLE-BLEND MAKEUP AIR MEDIAPurafil Triple Blend Media

PURAFIL TRIPLE-BLEND MAKEUP AIR MEDIA remove the widest variety of odors and gases from applications where jet fuel fumes, diesel exhaust and automobile emissions are present. Purafil Triple-Blend Makeup Air Media contains a 50:25:25 blend, respectively of Puracarb, Purafil Select and Purakol engineered drychemical media. Each type of media targets a particular pollutant specific to engine exhaust – Purafil Select for removal of nitric oxide and Puracarb for removal of nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide – 95% of the total gaseous contaminants found in engine exhaust. Purakol and Purafil Select, working in conjunction, remove most of the remaining contaminants.
